A TASTY MORSEL
Cask No. 149.4
sold out
We found the nose surprisingly complex for the age – we got floral notes, fruity notes (mango, pineapple, wrinkled apples), currants, crème brûlée and a cabinet maker’s workshop. The palate was mouth-filling and yummy, with good viscosity (fruit syrup poured over crêpes), sweet Muscat, juicy sultanas and orange fondants, with nice balancing chili heat and a dry finish. The nose, with water, delivered lychees in syrup, dried pineapple, coconut, incense candles and aromatic wood. The reduced palate had orange zest and wine gum fruitiness and light mouth tingles from the wood – a dram of decent complexity, individual character and very drinkable indeed.
